Spiced Apple Milkshake Recipe

spiced apple milkshake

Why not try something refreshing, sweet and a little fiery to wash down those lovely warm chestnuts and caramel?

We couldn’t actually decide on a beverage to accompany them, all we knew was it should have apples in and should have a bit of autumn spice. But then spice can be tricky, we all know that friend who struggles to tolerate even a little spice so what better way to incorporate all those wonderful flavours than in a soothing heat neutralising milkshake?

My spiced apple milkshake is packed full of aromatic taste and is a great autumn treat to enjoy snuggled in a blanket in front of the fire.

Apple Milkshake Ingredients

To make 2 small (or 1 large) spiced apple milkshake you will need:

  • 1 small apple
  • ½ pint of milk (skimmed, semi-skimmed or any milk you like!)
  • 3-4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tbsp white caster sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Sprinkle of nutmeg
  • Sprinkle of allspice
  • Sprinkle of cloves
  • Cinnamon sticks to decorate

How to Make Spiced Apple Milkshakes

Peel, core and chop the apple into small cubes. Use a cox’s apple or select a variety with a sharp flavour that will cut through the vanilla and milk.

Put all ingredients into a blender apart from the cinnamon sticks.

Blend until smooth and frothy. There might be small lumps of apple remaining – you can scoop those out with a spoon at the end. Yum.

Pour the apple milkshake into elegant glasses, decorate with the cinnamon stick and enjoy!

Spiced Apple Milkshake For Adults

If you’re feeling a little bit devilish this recipe can be made a little bit naughty by adding a shot of Irish cream, it can be made a lot naughty by adding 2 shots.

Just remember to always drink responsibly!
