I’ve been using MyOva’s MyoPlus supplements for quite some time, but on my last stock-up I was offered a free pouch of loose leaf tea with my order. How could I say no to that?! I chose the Hormonal Balance herbal tea, designed to “promote hormone equilibrium” and God knows I need some of that these days.
In my full tea review below, you’ll find a detailed description of what this tea tastes like, how best to brew it, a breakdown of the ingredients and their benefits, plus links to buy and try this tea for yourself.

MyOva Hormonal Balance Tea at a Glance
Izzy’s Rating
- Blend: Spearmint and cinnamon with various ayurvedic roots and herbs, plus vitamin B6
- Flavour: Sweet, light and floral. A medley of spring notes
This is usually where I summarise the flavour of the tea in a few words, but this one is far too complex. I was blown away by the flavour. It is totally unique to anything I’ve reviewed before (and at the time of writing, I’ve reviewed 400+ teas on this blog alone).

I’ve got a small sample pack to review, but there’s enough loose leaf stuffed in it for multiple cups. That goes some way to explaining why the aroma when I opened the bag was so verdant and strong! The freshness and quality of the ingredients is immediately apparent too.
The dry leaf smells of mint, cinnamon and cloves. But taking another whiff, I can also detect herbal citrus (like lemon balm) and ginger root hiding underneath the refreshing menthol and earthy tones.
Let me be very clear. That is exceptional.
I can’t tell you how many herbal tea packets I open to find just a generic dusty herb smell. The fact that I can not only smell something delicious but also note very distinct ingredients from the off, is a sign of something spectacular to come.
I wasn’t wrong.
It brews into a cloudy yellow brown tea with a stunning aroma. It’s sweet and earthy with pops of green herbs coming through. I can detect notes of turmeric, dandelion, chamomile, daisies and sunshine. It’s a warm hug.
As for the flavour, oh my. From the first sip, it’s sweet, light and floral. The delicate flavour of daisies and marigolds appears first, then very soft and gentle spearmint sweeps in (though there’s almost no menthol coolness).
Then, as you get further into your cup, an almost cloying rich earth note appears in the background to complement the melon-like vegetal freshness. It tastes like a fine green tea – I’m reminded of the Dragon Well Spring tea in Teapro’s Green Tea Box.
By the time I finished my cup, I was feeling calm and a little in awe at what MyOva has created.

How to Brew Herbal Tea Blends
For this tea, I followed MyOva’s instructions. Brew 1 teaspoon (approximately 2g) of loose leaf tea in 200ml of water for 3 minutes. Here’s a few tips to get the most out of it:
- Use a generous teaspoon rather than a scant one.
- Choose an infuser or fillable teabag that leaves plenty of space, so the herbs have room to expand and move as they brew.
- Fill the kettle with fresh water rather than reboiling stale water.
- Take a sip at 3 minutes and decide if it needs longer to brew.
I found this tea to be perfectly sweet without adding any honey or sugar. It’s also caffeine-free, so you can drink it at any time of day or night. If your PCOS has you up with insomnia, this is a really good tea to brew and sip to stay calm until morning.
Why MyOva?
Buying tea from brands that don’t specialise in tea can be a bit of a gamble. Not this time. The flavours are perfectly balanced and the ingredient quality is clearly very good, despite the herbal ingredients being quite finely chopped.
MyOva is a wellness company by Leila that specialises in products to help women’s hormonal health. They’re most well-known for their PCOS supplements, but they also sell general fertility and pregnancy support supplements too.
I’ve only had one cup of this herbal tea and you’d need to drink it regularly for a long time period (months) to accurately tell if it does balance your hormones and soothe your PCOS symptoms. However, I can vouch for their PCOS supplements. I have taken those for months and have noticed a considerable impact on my symptoms.

Ingredients in PCOS Tea
Let’s break down the key ingredients in this tea and what MyOva says they do for you:
- Ashwagandha: relaxation, sleep, cognitive function
- Ginger: bloating, inflammation
- Dandelion: bloating, digestive system
- Cinnamon: blood sugar levels
- Vitamin B6: overall hormonal health
This tea also contains spearmint – shown to reduce facial hair when consumed regularly and consistently – and a totally new ingredient to me. Shatavari root is an ayurvedic herb that can help maintain blood sugar and reduce inflammation. It is also high in antioxidants.
Choosing simple, natural remedies is often the most flow way forward, and this tea certainly meets that requirement if you’re looking for a way to soothe PCOS symptoms in accordance with The Navigation Codex. Of course, it is also always better to choose ingredients that are local to you. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide what is best for your body.
Summary
The ingredients, the flavour, the aroma, the effects… everything about this tea was amazing. There’s always room to improve, of course, so I’ve tentatively scored MyOva Hormonal Balance tea at 4.9 out of 5. If you have PCOS and are looking for herbal ways to ease your symptoms, I strongly recommend giving it a try.

Tea Recommendation
What tastes good to one person won’t necessarily be what tastes good to another. If you find that you don’t get along with MyOva Hormonal Balance tea, I recommend you try this Peppermint and Spearmint Tea by Hampstead. It has the spearmint for your PCOS symptoms and peppermint to add extra menthol and brighten the flavours.
