Blair Shaw: 27 Questions – A Life in Brief

The home I grew up in: Many different ones, eventually moving in with my Dad during my Primary School years.

When I was a child I wanted to be: Sailor in the Royal Navy.

The moment that changed me for ever: First time I left the UK, showing me a world of possibilities beyond these shores.

I drive: Jaguar XF.

If I could change one thing about myself:  I would address my lack of self-confidence and concentrate on being happy and content.

At night I dream of: Adventures and where my next trip will take me, I love exploring and learning about new cultures and history!

What I see when I look in the mirror: My reflection.

My style icon: I just have my own style, which mostly consists of jeans and t-shirt arrangements. In colder weather the trusted hoodie collection comes out.

The shop I can’t walk past: Cosy Café, I am a sucker for a full English breakfast.

A book that changed me: Blind Man’s Bluff.

The last album I bought: I don’t know actually remember, I tend to listen to the radio a lot while driving and haven’t got the need for physical albums.

The person who really makes me laugh: Rachael, a good friend of mine.

It’s not fashionable but I like: Many different things that wouldn’t be considered fashionable like military history, submarines and museums that drive Izzy crazy when we go to visit them.

My favourite work of art is: I’m not a fan of art per se, I appreciate nature and the world around us instead. Sometimes, I think design and engineering feats are very artistic.

My favourite item of clothing: My hoodie collection, infinitely practical and I think they look good as well.

You wouldn’t not know it but I’m very good at: Researching for my trips/adventures, I am always finding nuggets of information that others miss.

You may not know it but I’m no good at: Speaking publicly which ties in to my earlier mention of self-confidence, though I am getting better at doing this.

All my money goes on: The next adventure, where ever that might be, I always have a trip planned.

If I have time to myself: I like to play video games on my gaming PC as well as some XBox One games like Farcry 5.

My house: Detached 3-bedroom bungalow.

My most valuable possession: The house itself is my most valuable possession in monetary terms.

Movie heaven: Lord of War and Hunt for Red October.

The best invention ever: Torn between the space rocket and submarine on this one.

I wish I’d never worn: Some of the kids clothes my nan made me wear (yeah; proper 60’s fashion being worn in the 1990’s).

In 10 years’ time, I hope to have:  More travelling done with more adventures waiting.

My greatest regret: I don’t really have any regrets.

My life in six words: Mess adventurous depressed worthwhile vast creative.
